EMDR Specialty Areas:
EMDR with Children and Teens
Learn how to implement the EMDR protocol when working with children or teens, blending the therapy into play therapy techniques including sand play therapy, or offering strategies for working with teens.
Integrating Sandtray and EMDR Therapy
Learn how to integrate Sandtray Therapy into the AIP model and all 8 Phases of EMDR Therapy. Utilizing both therapies is effective for healing from trauma, specifically attachment trauma and developmental trauma. This technique is beneficial for children, teens and adults.
Attachment Trauma
Ms. Wilcox is trained in the Integrative Attachment Protocol for children (Attachment Trauma Center of Nebraska). This model helps parents learn to respond with effective trauma-informed strategies, strengthens the security of the parent-child attachment relationship, improves children’s behaviors and emotional regulation, and decreases reactivity related to traumatic memories and current triggers. The IATP-C model can be used in conjunction with Sandtray therapy to enhance the healing work necessary for children who have suffered attachment wounds as well as improved relationships for the entire family.
